One of the unique features the WeatherTech Mud Flaps is that it securely attaches to your vehicle, without having to drill any holes in the metal. No holes in the metal, or on the rust-proof coating. In the case of the F-150, WeatherTech uses leave patented QuickTurn Fastener. Made of a hardened stainless steel, with a specially designed screw, that allows this locking arm to rotate inside the fender liner. Then it clamps down very tightly on fender lip, holding the flap securely in place . I'll show you this again during the the installation. Included in your Mud Flaps Part Kit, is all the hardware you'll need. And a hex-key for tightening the QuickTurn Fastener. For the F-150, all you'll need is the hex-key. Tools? Well for the F-150 all you'll need is a small socket set or a small nut driver set. First make sure that the mounting area of the fender and wheel well is clean and free of any mud or debris and turn the front wheel all the way to left. This will give a little extra room to work on the driver side. Choose the driver side mudflap, indicated by an "LH", stamped on the back. Hold it in position and you can easily identify the existing screws to be removed. In the case up the F-150, just these two screws need to be removed. Using a socket or a nut driver, back out the two screws, keep them handy; you'll need them in a few minutes. Now take a look a look at the back of the mud flap: you see the QuickTurn Fastener has a little locked and unlocked indicator. Turn the locking arm so that the little tabs points to the unlocked indicator. Now fit the WeatherTech Mud Flap into position. Being careful, to keep the QuickTurn in the unlocked position. Line up the holes in the mud flaps with the existing holes. Replace the hex-head screws you just removed, and loosely snug them to hold the flap in position. Don't tighten them all the way yet. Now, take the supplied hex-key and take the QuickTurn screw to the locked position. You should feel some resistance, as the locking arm eases behind the fender liner and hits a stop. Continue to turn and the QuickTurn will grip the fender lip. Press the mud flap firmly into position, fitting the contour of the fender.Snug up the hex-head screws and you're done! Now go ahead and repeat the process on the other side, and your WeatherTech Mud Flaps are installed!
